Brush Truck Bed Features

Aluminum Bed

Aluminum Bed

All aluminum beds provide a rugged design that is also lightweight, saving approximately 800 pounds over a conventional steel bed. This correlates to almost 100 extra gallons of water that the truck is capable of hauling. The bed is designed so that the weight of the water tank, which when full amounts to almost two thirds of the total bed weight, rides directly on the truck frame and is not supported by the aluminum bed. The aluminum bed is also corrosion resistant and does not need to be painted. The aluminum also gives a very attractive appearance.

Traverse Crosswalk - Manwell

Transverse Crosswalk

The transverse crosswalk provides a through passage directly behind the cab. This location provides a smoother ride for firemen and keeps the firemen close to driver for verbal instructions. With the through passageway, the firemen have access to either side of the truck without dismounting the apparatus.

Optional seats and seatbelts can be provided for additional safety.

Electrical Access

All electrical controls originate at a master control box located in the transverse crosswalk for easy access. Thermal breakers, allowing components to restart after breakers cool, protect all electrical equipment. A master cutout solenoid controlled by the truck ignition switch shuts off all additional electrical components when the truck ignition is turned off to avoid inadvertent batter discharge. All wiring is color coded and identified for easy troubleshooting.
